NOTE: The below content is only for those clubs who currently use PowerUp as their registration software.
For PowerUp clubs, you’ve likely already done most of the work relating to rostering players and assigning team officials (coaches/managers) onto teams in Convenor. Where team rosters need to be approved by your District (e.g. competitive teams), you can sync those teams directly to the Ontario Soccer Govern.
You can do this in one of three ways, depending on your situation:
- Syncing Teams Individually (one by one)
- Syncing All Teams in a Division (in bulk)
- Syncing Teams to a Player Pool (grassroots age groups)
Syncing Individual Teams
You can sync an individual team to the Ontario Soccer Govern module where needed.
While logged in as an administrator in Convenor:
Navigate to the Manage >> Build Roster page
Select the category, division, and team from the dropdowns
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the View GOV Team Information button
That section will expand, revealing another button (Sync to GOV). Click it to begin the process of syncing this specific team to the Ontario Soccer Govern module.

A pop-up will appear with a series of dropdowns. Use the dropdowns to select:

Governing Body Season
Governing Body Category
Governing Body Play Level
Team Gender
When ready, click the Sync roster to gov button in the lower right
This will sync that particular team to the Ontario Soccer Govern module. In effect - this will make this team available (with all its rostered players and assigned team officials) in the module to then submit to the district for approval.
Syncing ALL Teams from a Division in Bulk
You can sync all teams in a division in bulk to the Ontario Soccer Govern module where needed.
While logged in as an administrator in Convenor:
- Navigate to the Manage >> Manage Teams page
- Select the category and division from the dropdowns
- Click the Sync Division Teams to GOV button in the lower right
- From the dropdown, select Sync each team separately to GOV
- You’ll be presented with a summary of the teams to be synced to the Ontario Soccer Govern module. When ready, click the Confirm and Sync button

Syncing Teams to a Player Pool
Sometimes clubs assign players to individual teams for scheduling purposes, but when submitting for approval by the District need to do so in one large player pool. You can do so in PowerUp via the Manage Teams page.
While logged in as an administrator in Convenor:
Navigate to the Manage >> Manage Teams page
Select the category and division from the dropdowns
Click the Sync Division Teams to GOV button in the lower right
- From the dropdown, select Sync all teams, players, and officials to ONE player pool team on GOV
- A textbox for you to enter the desired name for the Player Pool will appear
- Once you’ve added the name, when ready click the Confirm and Sync button.
Players and team staff from all teams in the division will be synced to ONE player pool in the Ontario Soccer Govern module, where they’ll be available for you to submit to your District Association for approval.
